At the retreat we offer a selection of tasty, hand prepared, vegetarian and vegan dishes, making the best use of seasonal and local produce at all times.
All of our salad leaves and most of our vegetables and herbs come from the Quinta da Luz garden, depending on the time of year – directly from garden to table.
The 1 hectare of land on which Quinta da Luz sits, as well as having the vegetable garden, also has many fruit and nut trees, which are picked fresh for the table. The aim of the quinta is to be completely self sufficient within a few years and it’s well on the way to attaining that. The 80 olive trees already provide the quinta with year round olive oil and olives which you will get to enjoy every day.
There is some knowledge of Ayurveda and Macrobiotics mixed in along with many years experience of simple home cooking.
