In this retreat we want to get rid of all the things that do not serve us, whether it be physical, mental or emotional. This could be unhealthy processed foods, as well as emotional blockages, negative energies or work related stress. In daily life we are constantly exposed to these. They affect our quality of life and can eventually lead to disease. Our digestive, nervous, and hormonal systems are designed to work together to achieve optimum health. This is what our bodies want to do. So let’s start helping them by bringing back balance and help our systems function properly again. This is what we want to achieve, and here’s how we will do that;

You will arrive at whatever time suits you on Sunday, giving yourself time to settle and relax and have an early night, before the programme begins on Monday morning.

It’s such a beautiful experience to rise with the sun gently and begin the day with a silent meditation which we will do every morning followed by an hour and a half of gentle warm ups and asanas, concluding with half an hour of deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra

Every asana has a number of health benefits such as stimulating the function of the organs, the lymph system, the digestive system, and helps the muscles, joints and bones to stay healthy and strong. Mentally, the synchronized breathing relaxes your mind and helps to release any blockage of energy flow throughout your body. Practising Yoga Nidra after asanas is so powerful, as when the body is open and relaxed it further allows the release of old mental patterns and conditionings by accessing the subconscious mind.

We will then practice another form of Yoga, Karma Yoga. I believe this is a very important part of Yoga but it is optional. If you don’t feel like participating on the first day or two I guarantee you will want to after that.

We will then have a nourishing vegetarian lunch which you may have even helped prepare!

In the afternoons you have free time to do whatever you desire. This is your opportunity to enjoy one of our energy/bodywork sessions, whether it be a deep tissue massage or another one of our many treatments available. Then we will have an afternoon yoga class, which will vary during the week. Some days we will concentrate on back bending another day standing asanas and balances, depending on the energy of the group.

Every night after our dinner we will gather together, where we will either watch an inspirational film, do Mantra chanting or simply sit for a silent sitting, where we come together to share the space in silence. The sitting in silence is so important as it gives us the opportunity to wash away the impressions of the day and return to the stillness inside. This will ease you into the beautiful night and provide you with all the relaxation you need for a good night’s sleep.
